Hi all,

Currently in my C5 I have two 12V34Ah batteries. However it appears these have stopped working and so I think replacements are going to be required...

What would be the best batteries to replace with please? I've seen Lipo batteries mentioned but know nothing about them??

Ideas would be appreciated,

Vicky

I bought a new leisure battery, 85ah I think. The 100/110ah are too large to fit in place. These are normal lead/acid batteries bought from my local caravan accessories seller.

85Ah @ £49.95. Why in the hell can't I find something like that here?

That is a bit harsh! Without a new leisure battery it would not last for that distance. There would be a hell of a lot of pedalling. LOL

The problem wouldn't be the leisure battery, but my internal one.

Hi Dave, no offense taken. Just leave me your address, and when I'm in England I'll come round and beat the hell out of you.

Maybe a bit more expensive
Still half the price they cost here, but with P&P, import duty, plus my complete and utter mistrust of Chinese goods.

So you also mistrust your phone, computer and mostly all other electronics? Almost ALL products come from china orgins. I'm still searching for an shippingagent, after i recieve a battery from them i shall post a review of it.

These are not chinese/chinese products, but foreign/chinese products, i.e. qa is conducted by the company who ordered the product. For example, there are german qa personnel present at the vw factory, japanese controlling their products, americans, etc.

But the pure chinese products are rubbish. Supermarket bike are the worst offenders. I worked for three years in a church run workshop, the bikes are produced from butter steel. From four brand new wheels, when tested, they twitched when rotated, bearings that, I can only assume, either have no grease or are made from stone. Electric scooters where wires are just twisted together no solder. Brand new batteries out of the pack that are flat. I can go on and on, but what's the point.

There are more than enough programs on TV that cover these problems.

If you think I'm dreaming, then so are the chinese. In china an institute has been formed to try and persuade the local manufactures to better their quality. Now why would they do that?
