My repaired insert sort of worked.Not on 24v though.
New insert ready to go in, but I was advised by Chas to make some cooling holes.

Plastic bit off and masking tape over the magnets. Ready for cooling holes to be drilled.

All good after two test runs. Max speed 43 kph / 26.5 mph. Only major problem now is the brakes. Ha ha What brakes.
Tomorrow I will try a 12 mile loop to simulate the distance to my work.

The holes do help. I thought I maybe could have made them a bit bigger. But it did not get too hot.
