Just thought I'd share this (No it's not an MGF Dave) our recently purchased 3D Printer by MakerBot:

The main reason for sharing here is that it has huge potential for creating custom parts for the C5 and to also try to clone existing parts

Here's a boot clip being designed in the 3D software:

And printed out, along with some other bits:

Now just got to finish of the design of the X-POD display case

If anyone has anything they want printed, design it up and send me the file and I'll print it for you.

Yeah I'm just designing it myself, not too great at CAD but I've learnt a lot already.

Does the glass in a wing mirror clip out or something? I want to remove it without damaging it, then I can play with making mirrors If it don't come out without breaking it I'll leave it well alone

Probably, though I doubt the plastic is strong enough for that sort of thing.

Yeah tried that on the ipad and couldn't get it to work:

http://www.123dapp.com/catch

I don't see how it can be accurate, all you do is take x number of photos from different angles and the app tries to construct a 3d mesh of the object for you to print.

So far its completely messed up the mirror I tried, but it may have been the lighting.  Might try it again later.  But a proper scanner is the only way to go.

I was looking at this one:

http://www.matterform.net/

Its not available until December I think but looks good value for money.
