Has anyone ever tried to reproduce the mirrors for the C5? I've noticed all the pictures from the C5 events in the UK and seeing the mirrors on a C5 is very rare. I know there are 3d printed replacement mounts available, but with the increasing rarity of the mirrors, I wonder how difficult it would be to manufacture.

3D printing may be the easy bit, drawing them up the hard bit. Last winter I started making a mould for resin casting them, I may continue with it this winter.
If I do I will update on this forum.

I'd agree with Ray on this. I've had a go at designing them and have given up. They're just too complex for me, maybe someone else can manage it. The only other solution to drawing them in CAD is to 3D scan them in. I tried this as well using a budget Makerbot scanner and the results wern't too great

I had a feeling you had probably taken a crack at this Dan. I would love to know if they were made at the factory or if a supplier built them and if that supplier was still around.

Dan, were the mirrors made out of the same material as the main body, polypropylene?
