Hi,

I just got my first C5 last week. Its been in storage for 10 years but after replacing the Sinclair battery wiring we got it going first time.

Its got a bit of rust on the chassis frame which I plan to brush off and hammerite over but other than that its in very good condition.

I'm looking forward to using it to ride to work in the summer months.

Ideas for a suitable high-vis mast replacement would be welcome - at the moment I'm looking at bike flags and similar...

Thanks

Hi Dave,

I don't think it was.

I was in contact with the chap concerned, he's from places other,:-" but it was a couple of years back. I had a look at the posts but for some reason or other the hits have been limited. So no luck.

Cheers.

Hi,

You can use bike flags, but the rods are a bit small for the holes at the rear of the frame. I just wrapped some insulating tape round the end of the rod until it made a good interference fit.

They usually come in two parts, so you can put two on, or do what I did and put a flag on the long one, and make up a reflector from some light ply and some relfective tape from ebay. If you look on the gallery you'll see mine sitting on a bridge with the rods, flag and reflector fitted.

Cheers John

Hi Dave,

yes it was Danny.

@ hallb15,

hang fire for a bit, I've sent a message to the guy who was producing the Hi-Vis masts asking if they're still avaiable.

Cheers.

Hi hallb15,

with ref. to the Hi-Viz mast, sorry, but it looks like a dead end. I received no reply to the message I sent. Appears he's sold his C5s to finance a taxi company.
