Not quite sure what it is but I have attached a photo for you to see. Any ideas how to get it off without ruining the rear light? I have been picking at it for a number of days now but have not progressed very far.

Hi are the marks paint or stickers (paper)
If it's paper stickers then it will do no harm to leave them soaking in water with some washing liquid over night
If paint then you have a problem as what you must not do is try paint remover as it will eat into the plastic and no matter what you do it will leave marks ..
